Affiliate Disclaimer

In short: PianoXpert is an independent review site. I fund my work through affiliate commissions — primarily from the Amazon Associates Program. When you buy something through a link on this site, I may earn a small commission at absolutely no extra cost to you. This financial arrangement never influences my reviews, scores, or recommendations. Period.

Amazon Associates Program

PianoXpert is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for websites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com and its affiliated international marketplaces.

As an Amazon Associate, I — Julian Harmon, the sole owner and operator of PianoXpert — earn from qualifying purchases. When you click a product link in one of my keyboard piano reviews or digital piano guides and then complete a purchase on Amazon, Amazon pays PianoXpert a small referral commission. The commission percentage varies by product category but is typically between 1% and 8% of the sale price.

How Commissions Actually Work

I want to be completely transparent about the mechanics, because I think every reader deserves to understand the financial relationship behind the content they are reading:

  • You click a product link on PianoXpert that directs to Amazon.
  • Amazon drops a tracking cookie in your browser, identifying your session as originating from this site.
  • If you purchase anything on Amazon within 24 hours (or 90 days if the item was added to your cart), PianoXpert earns a small percentage of the total order value.
  • Your price does not change. You pay exactly the same amount regardless of whether you arrived through my link or navigated to Amazon directly. The commission comes from Amazon's end, not yours.

For additional details on how Amazon handles your data during this process, please review our Privacy Policy.

My Independence Pledge

This is the part I care about most, and I want to be unequivocal: affiliate revenue has zero influence on the opinions expressed in any review, guide, or recommendation on this site.

I do not accept payment from manufacturers for favorable reviews. I do not inflate ratings to encourage more clicks. I do not prioritize products with higher affiliate commissions over genuinely superior instruments. If a budget Casio outperforms a premium Yamaha in a specific testing category, that is exactly what I will write — even if the Yamaha would earn me a larger commission.

My reputation is the only real asset this website has. The moment I compromise on honesty, readers stop trusting the reviews, and this entire project becomes meaningless. That is a trade-off I will never make. If you want to understand my full review philosophy and testing methodology, please visit the About page.

FTC Compliance

PianoXpert follows the Federal Trade Commission's guidelines regarding the use of endorsements and testimonials in advertising (16 CFR Part 255). In practical terms, this means:

  • Every page containing affiliate links includes a clear disclosure statement near the top of the content, before you encounter any purchasing links.
  • Affiliate links are identified through contextual labeling, distinct call-to-action buttons, and this dedicated Disclaimer page.
  • I never disguise affiliate links as organic editorial recommendations without proper disclosure.

Other Affiliate Partnerships

While Amazon is currently PianoXpert's primary affiliate partner, I may occasionally link to other reputable music retailers such as Sweetwater, Guitar Center, or B&H Photo. The same principles apply across every partnership: the commission structure never affects the review content, and you will always be informed when a link is an affiliate link.
